Why Politics Alone Won’t Save America (And Why Religion Won’t Either)

Let’s be honest for a minute. Being a Conservative, a Republican, or a Democrat does not make you a Kingdom of Jesus citizen—a REAL Christian.
"Conservative" is not synonymous with true Jesus Christianity.
We’ve all heard people on both sides of the aisle say things like, "I just don't see how a Christian could vote for that party or that person."
They say it with such pride, as if they themselves are living completely as Jesus did. But the truth is, a lot of these folks are deeply religious and deeply political, but they aren't true Jesus followers. If we claim to belong to Him, our actual walk needs to match His.
1 John 2:6
"He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked."
America Is Not a Kingdom Nation
We need to stop pretending that America is a fully Christian nation. It’s not.
It’s a religious nation, filled with all kinds of religions and idolizing political power. Does it have some Christian elements in it? Sure. But it is not a Kingdom of Jesus nation, no matter how many politicians, church people, or commentators try to propose that it is.
Most people who call themselves Christians live however they want to live Monday through Saturday. But that isn't true Jesus living—that’s just religion.
And religion is full of hypocrisy:
Some people say, "I don't believe in abortion," but turn around and commit sick, abusive acts against children—whether they are Republican or Democrat.
Others say, "I stand for traditional marriage," but then choose not to marry at all while living in fornication, secretly struggling with pornography (gay porn also), or trying to prey on young people.
Some people don’t like the rich, but it’s the rich who employ them, and they expect the rich to pay them!
Some want the government (which is the American people) to take care of them while they are lazy, but God through the Apostle Paul said to WORK so that YOU can have to give to those in need (Eph 4:28).
Matthew 15:8
"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me."
The church in America has gotten way too political and nowhere near Kingdom enough.
2 Timothy 3:5
"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."
Where Are the Evangelists for Jesus?
We will eagerly evangelize for a political candidate. We will idolize our nation and some worship certain Presidents. But we won't hit the streets to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with that same fire and passion.
Where are the evangelists at?
Instead of holding up political signs and blocking traffic to complain about the government, why don't you pick up a sign, open your Bible, and preach the accurate Gospel of Jesus Christ in the streets?
Politics alone won't save this nation. Religion won't cut it either. God’s righteousness has always been, and will always be, the only way a nation is transformed.
Proverbs 14:34
"Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."
Real Kingdom-righteous believers need to step into spiritual authority, taking territory and changing lives for the glory of God.
Proverbs 29:2
"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn."
It’s Time to Stop Debating and Start Soul-Winning
Instead of quitting your church, tearing down your family, and cutting off friends over political stances, it’s time to make a real change:
Get saved for real. Stop relying on a political identity.
Honor spiritual leadership and get discipled in a true Kingdom church.
Identify with the Kingdom of God instead of a political party.
Go win souls for Jesus and stop being an online busybody arguing over earthly politics.
Matthew 6:33
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
2 Corinthians 5:20
"Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God."
Proverbs 11:30
"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise."
2 Timothy 2:4
"No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier."
Our allegiance isn't to the Red or the Blue—it’s to the King of Kings. Let’s get off social media debates, get back to the streets, and start living like true citizens of His Kingdom.
Phil 3:20 (NLT) But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives.
