Fear Has Been Normalized — But Not By God
Our culture is saturated with fear — even within church culture. It’s woven into our daily conversations, our entertainment, and even our songs. Movies, cartoons, news, and social media keep feeding fear as if it’s wisdom.
We’ve even heard coaches, teachers, preachers, and military leaders say things like, “It’s good to have a little fear — it keeps you sharp.”But let’s be clear — God never taught that.
From Genesis to Revelation, His command is “Fear not.”The wisdom of man says “a little fear is healthy.”But the wisdom of God says “Live by faith.”And the two cannot coexist.
Fear is not harmless — it’s destructive. It opens the door to the very things you dread.
Job 3:25
“For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.” (KJV)“For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me.” (NKJV)“For the thing which I greatly fear comes upon me, and that of which I am afraid has come upon me.” (AMP)
Feared — pāḥad (פָּחַד): to tremble, dread, or stand in awe of something.
Come upon me — bôʾ (בּוֹא): to enter, invade, or overtake.
Job was saying:
“That which I have continually dreaded, reverenced with fear, or allowed to invade my thoughts has now overtaken me.”
We’ve been trained to live with fear — to accept it as normal, even spiritual. But fear is not a friend. It’s a thief of peace, faith, and destiny.
It’s time to retrain the Church — to unlearn fear and live fully by faith.Because what you continually fear, you eventually invite. And what you continually believe, you eventually manifest.
Let’s choose faith over fear. Every time.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
