5 Ways to Transition and Step Into What God Has for You Next
By Doc Murphy
Joshua 3:4 ... Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before.
Life is full of divine moments—windows where God invites you to move, shift, grow, and step into something greater. But far too many people stay stuck in the same season, the same mindset, or the same routine, not because God isn’t speaking—but because they’re not transitioning.
Transition is a Kingdom principle. It’s how God gets you from glory to glory, faith to faith, and assignment to assignment. If you’ve been sensing that God has “next” for you—but you’re not sure how to get there—these five steps will help you move forward in faith and purpose.
1. Stop Saying “No” Before You’ve Heard God’s “Yes”
Sometimes we reject opportunities, ideas, or people simply because they don’t look like what we’re used to. We label things “not God” because they don’t fit our traditions or comfort zones. But what if God is introducing something new through someone or something unfamiliar?
Before you say no—pause. Pray in the Holy Ghost. Ask for S.I. – Supernatural Intelligence. Let wisdom guide your response, not fear or offense.
God may be trying to lead you into your best life through a new connection, a bold Spirit inspired idea, or a divine encounter that doesn’t come packaged the way you expected.
2. Forgive So You Can Move
Unforgiveness is a heavy weight. And no matter how ready you are for “next,” you can’t carry bitterness into your new season. Many people miss the open door because their hands are still holding on to old pain.
God is ready to do something fresh in your life. But until you release what hurt you, He can’t release what’s meant to heal you.
Forgive. Let go. Move forward.
3. Walk by Faith, Not by Confirmation
Transition always requires faith. And not the kind that waits for signs, confirmations, and perfect conditions. We’re talking about raw, pure, “just because He said it” kind of faith.
If you're constantly needing proof before you move, you’ll stay stuck. God’s instructions rarely come with a preview. You have to move on the Word—no matter how unfamiliar or uncertain it feels.
Your next is waiting on your faith steps, not your comfort.
4. Surround Yourself With People Who Challenge You
You don’t need another “yes man.” You need voices in your life who will push you, stretch you, and even confront you when necessary.
Many people miss their moment of transition because they run from confrontation or correction. But God often uses people to provoke your growth. He uses certain people to sharpen your thinking, your belief systems, and your discipline. Stop running from them and embrace what God is doing through them.
Stop looking for people who always agree. Start welcoming people who help you transform.
5. Create a Plan and Take Daily Action
Once you’ve said “yes” to God and you’ve received insight from the Holy Spirit, create a plan. God doesn’t bless confusion—He blesses obedience and stewardship.
Use Supernatural Intelligence to develop a strategy. Write it down. Break it into steps. And then—move daily.
You can’t transition into greatness if you’re only dreaming. You have to do.
Final Thoughts:
Transitioning into the next thing God has for you isn’t just about timing—it’s about obedience, wisdom, and bold action. If you take these five steps seriously, you’ll not only sense a shift… you’ll live in it.
Your next is not coming. It’s waiting on your yes.
Let’s walk in it—together.
